As the leading society for image-guided treatments, CIRSE is dedicated to advancing minimally invasive therapies for all indications. One area where interventional radiology can make a particularly profound impact is pain management – a growing and urgent challenge in modern medicine.
Chronic pain affects millions of patients worldwide, severely diminishing their quality of life and placing a significant burden on healthcare systems. With their expertise in precise, image-guided, minimally invasive procedures, interventional radiologists are uniquely positioned to transform how pain is treated offering effective, targeted interventions that alleviate suffering, restore mobility, and reduce reliance on systemic therapies.
To support IRs in this pivotal role, CIRSE is expanding its mission to strengthen and define interventional radiology’s place in pain management, organizing the first edition of the European Conference on Image-Guided Pain Management (ECIP Summit), which will take place in Vienna/AT from March 19-20, 2026.
We look forward to two days of scientific exchange and focused strategizing. The ECIP Summit 2026 will serve as the foundation for a new annual ECIP Conference, officially launching in 2027. We are confident that the ECIP Summit will foster dialogue and collaboration. Alongside lectures from world-class experts, participants will engage in interactive discussions exploring the scientific, clinical, and organisational growth of image-guided pain therapy. Insights shared during this event will directly influence the design and direction of the annual ECIP Conference, which will become a central platform for innovation, education, and partnership in this space.
